Do you have a favorite teacher phrase?

I feel like every teacher has some few tried and true catch-phrases and it's especially funny (and a bit startling) when your students repeat them later!

We are settling into a pattern of having full weeks of school here after a couple holidays and A LOT of snow. We also had a tiny glimpse of spring weather here in Maryland and spring fever HIT the classrooms! It's way too early…we still have sixteen more school days!

My students are definitely acting sweet, but silly and I'm hearing little reprimands from others that sound suspiciously familiar.

Today I heard:

This little “lady” said it with the exact calm voice I use when I have stated an expectation (“clean up”) and some chaos has ensued.

It was so funny to hear it from a little six year-old! Plus, it worked like a charm…my little friend on the receiving end got back to business and was ready to move on.

I love when my students are running the show ♥

I’m a huge fan of quotes and sayings…ask any of my students! I often assign a student to be “in charge” and that’s when I realize they really ARE listening to me because they quote me word-for-word!

Here's a class favorite (warningdon't use this unless you don't mind hearing to the ENTIRE year!):

Have your students ever used one of your tried-and-true sayings?

Please leave a comment and share!
