Directed Drawings – this fine motor development center focuses little hands on BIG tasks as students follow six sequenced picture directions to complete a directed drawing!
This year I have been working with our occupational therapist during our Guided Reading block to support our first graders. I have learned so much about turning our literacy word work into developmentally appropriate activities! It has had a tremendously positive impact on my students' progress in both academics and fine motor, but don't tell them…they are too busy “playing!”
There are 20 directed drawing task cards included, plus 2 writing formats. The cards are designed to fit perfectly in a 4 x 6″ photo storage case.
Each directed drawing task card features 6 steps for students to follow. Themes include favorite animals like a cat, dog, frog…plus seasonal favorites (bat, spider, snowman)!
I hope your students love them as much as mine do!
Directed Drawings Fine Motor Centers – Friendly Feedback:
“Love to draw with the kids, can't draw very well, but this makes me think I have a chance. The kids are also able to follow along on their own! This is a great tool to use in centers. Thanks”
“An engaging activity that students can work on independently and practice fine motor skills, which many of my students need!”
