As a special educator, I LOVE centers! I can use them in so many different ways - modeling with a small group, using the materials to support instruction, and my all-time fave...having students work in pairs at a center & then using observation to assess or using this time to pull for individual assessment. Grocery Store Gems
Did you know there were teaching supplies at the grocery story?!? I feel like I could start an entire blog series on grocery story gems (and hardware stores, too!). It could be titled "Finding Teaching Supplies Everywhere You Go" or "Teaching Supplies in the Strangest Places," lol. Look what I found at my local store... Wrapping Up the Year!
Testing is OVER! I'm so proud of all the students - 5 days of marking those miniscule bubbles! They handled it like pros :) Next week we have a flurry of annual I.E.P. meetings & setting goals for next year. As a grade-level team, we are reviewing the five previous interim assessments to see where students still need review. We are organizing new intervention groups to zero-in on these areas for a final "push" before moving up to 2nd grade. Monday morning will ... continue reading...
Classroom Dance Party
One more day of standardized testing!!! The first grade teachers I work with are fantastic. This is the first year we have had promethean boards in the classroom (thanks to a very generous donation!) and everyone has been amazingly resourceful and creative with them!
