I’m usually feeling pretty “wordless” by Wednesday, but with an extra day of rest this week I’m in pretty good shape 🙂
Still, I’m linking up with Miss DeCarbo‘s weekly linky:

Happy TGIF! 3-Day Weekend Style!
I’m linking up with Kacey for Five for Friday:
I’m also linking up with Primary Inspiration (thanks Linda!)
to share a holiday pack and a timely freebie:
I used the sliders with my Power Hour (Guided Reading) group. I was able to use assorted “scraps” of paper and literally made about 30 in under one hour (while watching Netflix).
This week, we also explored Polar Bears:
and testing ended on Wednesday, so I was able to meet with one of my new intervention groups! We’re focused on all things literacy (phonemic awareness, phonics, comprehension, & language arts) using our NWEA data for RIT band grouping. Today we had fun using my NWEA Quick Questions cards in a “game show” style (I guess like The Newlyweds Game, but my students don’t have to know that):
What are your plans for the three-day weekend?
We just booked a Florida trip for spring, so we are staying in town for now. Hopefully catching up on a little extra sleep & enjoying a Chipotle lunch treat on Monday.
Enjoy your weekend & thanks for reading!

This week is all about our favorite holiday meal. Okay, this may be tough…and I can explain. Although I’m a total foodie, I do subscribe to the “food is fuel” theory and eat accordingly to stay healthy and meet my fitness goals. Soooo, recipes and cooking meals (that would be considered share-worthy) doesn’t really happen. We travel to the beach for the holidays. I always book a flight right after the last day of school, so I wake up at my usual 4:00 am, workout, go to school and teach, then head to the airport! By the time I reach Florida, I’m pretty much ready to eat anything I can find ;)We stay at my in-law’s beach house and every year, my mother-in-law (♥) sets it up for us to walk into a winter wonderland – literally. We walk through the door and there’s holiday music playing. There will be Christmas cookie platters displayed with our names, gift baskets for each of us with carefully chosen- items (“snackies”), and a refrigerator FULL of meals. Can you see why it’s my most favorite time of the year?!? My favorite holiday meal is whatever is awaiting me at the beach house 🙂 We also go to the Don Cesar every year for our Christmas Eve dinner.
Although I don’t prepare any special meals, every year I do make Christmas Fudge to bring to holiday parties. Here’s a throwback post sharing more about this:

Every year my students help me learn more and more about what they need. I added more activities based on my students’ areas of growth and I gave the entire packet a fancy makeover:
Have a fantastic week!

It took ALL my willpower to not jump into my winter-themed bins. I have WAY more ideas than available weeks! Instead, I stuck with autumn in an attempt to not skip over Thanksgiving!
